We are Aviation Component Engineering (ACE); we have been engineering aircraft parts and overhauling aircraft components in Monroe, WI, since December 2020. We work with our customers to find poorly supported aerospace components, develop replacement parts and technical data used to overhaul those components, and provide our customers with a quality solution. With the exception of certain military components, all overhauled, repaired, tested, or inspected components are released with a FAA Form 8130-3, EASA dual release. Our engineering department is continuously working with our customers to find component repair needs in the aviation industry to add to our capabilities list. All of the components we have on our capabilities list are components that distributors or other repair stations provided to us for R&D, and in some cases, with financial support. This is because the research, designing, testing, and development that goes into the engineering completion process takes months or years, substantial money, and in many cases, multiple test fixturing devices. To encourage distributors and other repair stations to continue supplying us with new opportunities, we only sell to distributors and repair stations who provide continuous possibilities.
Our story began when Brandon and Aaron started helping a military friend Ryan, create his aircraft component distribution company. At this time Brandon and Aaron were working together at part 145 CRS, Brandon as an engineer, and Aaron as the chief inspector. In their off time, Brandon and Aaron would work with Ryan to help build his business; but even with Brandon and Aaron’s help, Ryan’s company was struggling to find CRSs to support the needs of the distribution company. After about five years at the CRS, Aaron decided to leave his job as the chief inspector and take a 2-year military tour as an aircraft-quality assurance inspector. During that time, Ryan’s distributing company continued to struggle with long overhaul times and poor quality from his suppliers. Seeing the need for a better component repair station, Brandon and Aaron decided to start their own Certified Repair Station (CRS). In working with a select few distributors, and the FAA, Aviation Component Engineering was born.
Although we specialize in components operated by solenoids or small/moderately sized motors and electrical components, our engineering department loves the challenge of analyzing components outside of our standard day-to-day project! Therefore, in addition to our specialized abilities listed below, we maintain a complete machine shop with all sorts of standard shop equipment.
We replace OEM cadmium plating with Electroless Nickel plating. The nickel-plating process is safer for our team than the cadmium plating. As a result, our customers receive parts that have better corrosion protection than their OEM new condition.
Our ability to anodize dye cast, sand cast and machined aluminum parts allows us to restore components to a like new condition quickly.
Our CNC equipment allows us to fabricate higher volumes of parts and fabricate complex parts at a cost lower.
The time-consuming ability to build armatures, coils, and stators allows us to repair components that most CRS can't repair.
Just another great way we save our customers time and money!
